I Hear Birds Calling

This must mean spring is calling. That and the daffodils are blooming around here and many trees are budding out.

I had an evening rain-free last night so decided to blow the debris from our recent windstorm off the driveway and decks while I had a little extra daylight. I hurried home from work, moved the cars out of our driveway, changed clothes and got the leaf blower ready to go.  I thought I was so smart and could get through all that I planned to do. Someone should hit me over the head when I think I'm smart. I prove myself wrong every time.

I began to blow off the front deck and I notice that the blower is getting kind of sluggish and slowing down.  Not ten minutes into the job it sputters, smokes and just stops. Tweet, blink, tweet!  I don't know how, but I BURNT up the leaf blower. Right in the middle of this job. ARGHH! So I spent the next two hours sweeping decks and around our pool with a broom until it became too dark to see.

Because I am taking care of little people from tonight through next Wednesday the job will just have to wait to be finished. That and of course I will be buying a new leaf blower. That thing is a life saver for me. Sorry farmer but I must spend money and I WILL be purchasing a GOOD one. Heh!

So this one of the blocks I have been working on for a gift shop here in my area. The owner loves birds. I will add more photos of the others on another post later.

Don't you just love this picture of the babies in the nest. Makes me smile.

Happy birthday to my sweet daughter, Kelli (today she turns 26) and a happy spring everyone!

Happy Birthday Kelli!!
I love the arrival of bird songs in the spring. I already have a pair of bluebirds in their nest box. He spends all day finding her things to eat, while she sits the eggs.
Happy Spring to you as well!

Happy Birthday Kells! Love you!

Vonda - love the bird blocks - which graphics were these? I think these are the ones that I need for what I'm doing as they are in black and white and that is the theme!

Hugs,

Me

I heard a bird singing this morning too! And I was outside yesterday with our leaf blower, cleaning up after having the rain gutters cleaned.

The meadowlarks have returned to our area, so they can be heard singing in the early mornings. Have yet to see a Robin.

The winds here have been terrible lately, but thankfully we have no trees around us, so no debri to clean up, just dust in the air...and in the house!

Love the cute little blocks...they speak of spring and warmer days to come.

Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Sorry the leaf blower bit the dust. Sounds like my luck with lawnmowers. *sigh*
