Who's King of the Rogue River?

I am the grand Blue Heron of the Rogue River. Please do not disturb these waters with your annoying jet boat trip. Yes Captain John did try to bother me with his spinning of the boat but all he succeeded in doing was giving the birthday girl and boy a good drenching. Tut, tut. Go away.

Huh? What's that commotion? Blue Heron......pshaw! I am the Osprey of the Rogue River.

Huh? What's that?

Stop looking at my nest. Invading my very private privacy. My bedroom, boudoir, bed chamber, bunk room. Well you get the picture, don't you? Leave!

Which way should I go? Which way should I go?

I the great Osprey do here by declare that if I stand still enough none of those people will notice me.

Yes we the bald eagles are the real kings of the Rogue River. We don't even need to grace the sky with our flight. We only need to sit here and stare you down until you leave.

Amazing shots! You're so lucky to have them nearby.
We have a Blue Heron in a pond a short ways from the house, but I can never sneak up on him. He sees me and flies away.

I am so glad that you got to see all those birds! That is a real blessing!
We are on the Tennessee River and get to see a variety of Herons, Gulls, Geese, Hawks, and such, too. That is so cool to see a pair of Bald Eagles in the wild! Wow! I don't believe we are in their habitat. Super sweet! I've not seen an osprey in the wild before either. We get Cooper's Hawks, Red Tailed Hawks, and the like. Once, my daughter and I drove up to the house to find a pair of hawks bathing and drinking in our birdbath...no lie! We sat there for at least 30 minutes half in the drive way, half in the road, watching the birds. I so love birds of prey, don't you?!
Thank you for sharing these!

Fabulous! I didn't know you got all those kinds of birds way up there, out there, or whatever it is, in Oregon! Awesome photographs!

Buncha snobs! ;o) That was a very fun trip though! Makes me want to go again, but only if Captain John is our captain again!

Great shots, Vonda.
It's so hard for me to get a good shot of a bird. If I'm not close to it and the camera already set to snap, I don't even try.

Oh My! Where did you take these wonderful photos? You've basically captured images of all my favourite birds in one fell swoop (sorry, I just had to say that). Great shots!
