These I Shall Miss

Sunflowers large and small are one of my favorite flowers of all time. I love the fact that they turn their little faces to follow the sun.

Me too! They're so cheery. I only have one blooming this year, a re-seed from last year. He looks so good standing in the middle of my little herb garden.

The sunflowers are so beautiful. My favorites. How do they stay standing? I would think the winds would break them.

I love them too. I especially like that they can take care of themselves. They grow where they will and take on the most brutal weather.

Yes, indeed. Hopefully their sunny faces will be around a little while yet.

Any flower that can take care of itself and make me happy by just popping up out of the ground each year all on it's own, is my favorite kind of flower. They do remind me, though, that the end of summer is here...

I love sunflowers, too.
I replanted them a couple of weeks ago. I'm just hoping they have time to bloom before the frosts get here.

One of my faves, too!

Gayle, some sunflowers do topple in the wind and need to be staked.

I love sunflowers! I plant them now every year in our garden. It is a Cherokee tradition to plant them in the northern corner of your garden to help guarantee a good harvest. I was actually able to harvest some seeds this year...last year the gold finches took them all;)
